From Amazon:
Nestled along San Diego's coast, the former romantic getaway of the silver screen's most notorious lovers is now the sizzling hacienda of Bonnie Miller's culinary boot camp. "If you are what you eat, make it hot, spicy and irresistible," is her motto, and this queen of Southwestern cuisine enjoys quite a savory life; success, fame, and a reputation for the finest palate west of Barcelona. That is, until a pot-rattling bang causes Trace Domingo, a washed-up sports writer, to crash into her life. His arrival turns up the heat at the culinary boot camp as Bonnie discovers in life's recipe book, it is not the spices which add the most flavor, but how truly hungry you are.

My Review:
Holy Guacamole is a book for foodies, suspense fans, fiction fans and romance lovers alike. This book has a bit of everything. That said I thought the pacing was slightly hectic and the story a bit unbelievable. Granted it's fiction but from the cover blurb I thought that this was going to be a sweet romance with a bit of a suspenseful twist but things got a bit too crazy for my taste. I didn't think I was going to like this story at all since it was told from the hero's point of view but I did. The best part about this book is the setting. I can't remember the last time I read a book set in So. Cali and Mexico. It was fun to experience the Mexican countryside even if it did get a bit "scary" at times. This was a good book, not quite a fulfilling main course but good no less.

  1. Cute title! I read a few foodie books and they didn't really do it for me though.
