Thank you all so much for your terrific comments yesterday, YOU are the reason I keep blogging. I love reading and sharing my favorite books with you. She's my blogiversary VIP today so please welcome her and read on to learn more about a special giveaway...
Heeeeere's Sandie!

I’ve been writing since the dawn of time. I started out in film school, and I wrote screenplays for 200 years. Then when my mom became ill in Florida, I left Los Angeles behind and moved across the country to take care of her. Since the writing gene wouldn’t rest, I went from writing scripts to writing books. 15 published books later … here I am! I seem to have accidentally been branded in romantic comedy, and I couldn’t be happier about it.
I think it’s always a bit bittersweet when I read the last book in a series I like, what’s it feel like to have penned “The End” for the Emma Rae series?
Actually, it was painful. I thought I’d be thrilled to put them all behind me and move on to new horizons. But after Emma and Jackson’s wedding, the realization set in and I started to question my ability to move on. It felt a little like a break-up. When Emma and I said good-bye, she got all our friends! LOL I recovered by spending some time developing the characters for my next series, and now I’m starting to get my mojo back.
I’m going to take a cue from my friend Rel @ Relz Reviewz blog and ask you who would you cast as Audrey and J.R. when Always the Designer… makes it to the big screen? ;-)
I LOVE REL!!! … Well, since Audrey is a ringer for Gwen Stefani, that would be my obvious choice. But I think Katherine Heigl would work as Audrey. When I wrote the book, J.R. had a very definite shape. He’s tattooed, rides a motorcycle, has the shaggy bad boy look … and Dean McDermott often walked into my imagination and took over. Other possibilities would be my buddy from my General Hospital days, Jonathon Jackson. He would so ROCK J.R. Hunt!
If your readers would like to see a video trailer of Always the Designer, Marian Miller from Marian Creates put together a pretty cool one for me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5K9TpisV4Rk
What are 3 words that could be used to describe the Emma Rae series?
Only three??? Hmmm. Fun (definitely). Inspiring. Joyous.
What can we expect to read next from the pen of Sandra Bricker?
Well, I have a book to write for Abingdon Press’ Quilts of Love line. The working title is Raw Edges, but I don’t think that’s in stone yet. Mine will be based on an ovarian cancer memory quilt, and it will be a little less FUNNY and a lot more touching than my normal fare. Since I’m a survivor of that terrible disease, I’m really excited about writing this one because I think I have a lot to bring to the table.
In addition, I’ve been contracted by Moody Publishing to write a series of books for their River North Fiction imprint. They’ll call them Contemporary Classics, and each one will be a contemporary take on a fairy tale. The first two are If the Shoe Fits (Cinderella) and Rise and Shine (Sleeping Beauty). I have such respect for River North, and I’m just so proud to be part of their posse now!
There are several more projects in the planning/negotiation stages right now, but I’m so happy and excited about the future. My goal is to appeal to readers with the new material the way Emma and her friends did with the Baker series.
About Always the Designer Never the Bride:
It’s taken Audrey Regan years to establish herself as a wedding dress designer, and to date she’s been roped into creating dresses for nine of her girlfriends. Request #10 follows her vow to “Just say no!” and comes from her very best friend. She can hardly turn Carly down!
Audrey arrives in Atlanta early to perform all of her maid-of-honor duties along with final fittings for a one-of-a-kind dress. But Carly’s wedding is nothing short of an event, complete with Prince Charming, and the festivities make Audrey question whether there’s a prince of her own anywhere in her future.

Sandie is such a fun person. No wonder her stories are so entertaining. I read Love Finds You in Snowball, Arkansas several years ago and can still remember the story and how much I enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteThe quilt book sounds like something I will like, even though it's not Sandie's usual fare. Having lost my beloved mother-in-law to cancer, I have a hunch some aspects of the story will resonate with me.
Thank you for stopping by again! I LOVED Love Finds You in Snowball, Arkansas, it was the book that got me hooked on Sandie's writing! :-)
