My Thoughts:
Well written romances set in small towns are some of my favorites to read. One More Last Chance by Cathleen Armstrong is one such novel. Its secondary characters are fun and the mischief and the just flat out stubbornness and aversion to change of some of the Last Chance natives are pretty typical of of life away from the city. Even though the story was interesting to read, I didn't really connect with the main characters as I would have liked to have done. There wasn't so much as a spark between Sarah and Chris, even though the story was labeled as contemporary romance. I didn't feel like Sarah "grew" in any way as the story progressed either. Still, the story kept my attention just by the fact that I wanted to know more about Olivia, Chris's niece, and his sister, Kaithlyn. I have the feeling that the next story, which features Kaitlyn, will be a little more interesting and slightly less predictable. That said, I appreciated the fact that this story had a natural pacing that wasn't rushed. There's nothing worse than feeling let down at the end of a book by a confession of love or a wedding or proposal that doesn't fit well with the rest story just to have everything seem all wrapped up in a neat bow.
