Summer!
Why you say do I have such a problem with Fall and Winter? Well the main reason is as I stated above, it's cold. I would rather be able to step outside at any time, night or day, and not have to worry about how many layers of clothes to wear or whether or not I can go see a friend. You see, if there is 3 feet of snow on the ground you can't just get up and go...especially if you don't own a 4-wheel drive vehicle. Another reason I don't like the cold is because I live with 4 people, 3 of whom have their own built-in heaters! I'm not kidding, come to my house in the winter and the thermostat is set on 62 degrees! They've got to have Thermocare patches on their bodies or something. Now I know some of you love Fall and Winter but if you had to live in my house, aka the Arctic Circle, you wouldn't be too enthused about seeing snowflakes flying through the air IN YOUR ROOM! Hahaha okay I'm totally exaggerating about the snowflakes but you get my point.
So number three on my list of why I loath Fall and Winter are germs. Yes germs are everywhere, all the time, but as soon as that slight chill hits the air I'm done for. I think the germs and viruses automatically think my frostbitten, red nose is a bulls eye. I won't quit sniffling till late Spring. I know they say that eating right and exercising are great ways to prevent illness but I would love to ask how am I to take my daily constitutional with those aforementioned 3 feet of snow plus the excess snow that was plowed off of the road (by my dad nonetheless) covering the sidewalk? *Sigh*
I really can't think of anything nice about Fall or winter other than the leaves changing and the untouched snow that lasts for two minutes until the nearest boot-clad foot tromps all over it (WOW do I sound like a curmudgeon or what? I'm not really). Oh well, at least I'll have more time to read! :-)
Best Solution: Fly south for the winter.
What's your favorite season? I'd love to know why!
ETA: Did I mention how short the days are in Fall and Winter?
Come to Florida! I live in Florida and I'm thrilled about Fall/Winter. It's my favorite time here :)
ReplyDeletePlease, please, PLEASE come to GA on your way to FL!! I have an extra bedroom downstairs -- with it's own bathroom and den -- you'll only have to come upstairs when you feel like it! I'll even share my nice toasty fireplace with you -- and my books. ;)
ReplyDeleteHmmm...my fave season...let's look at this logically for a moment. Sinus problems/allergies *almost* every time the season changes (NOW for example) - can't stand HOT weather - can't stand COLD weather - maybe I don't have a fave. There are certain things I enjoy DOING during each season though:
SPRING - Family vacation
SUMMER - Sunning w/my sisters in the pool
FALL - College football & Thanksgiving
WINTER - Birthday & Christmas
Great idea for a post, Renee!
*hugs*
Oh, Renee, you would love Southern CA, where it is nearly always warm. :)
ReplyDeleteI love each season.
Well, before you make to GA and FL, you'll have to stop through TN first. It's hot here, but it gets hotter the further south you go, so plan your trip very carefully. :o)
ReplyDeleteI'm like Lori...I have major allergy issues when spring rolss around, so I'm doped up on a regular basis. In spite of that, I think spring really is my favorite season because I love to get outside and start planting flowers. And around here, the weather is just perfect that time of year.
My favorite season is fall. It's not too cold and not too hot. I used to love getting new school clothes every year. I love pumpkin spice lattes at Starbucks in the fall. My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving followed by Black Friday which could really be its own holiday as much as I look forward to it. :)

ReplyDeleteGreat post, Renee!
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree with Lori, Renee! Stop off here in Ga. The weather is great and there is so much going on right. Football games, festivals, Oktoberfest events, and so much more (wow, now I sound like a cheesy infomercial). Anyways, you get what I'm saying. Love the post, so funny. I'm not sure I could last very long in PA, I was not made for blizzards. LOL;)
My favorite seasons hands down would have to be Spring. I love the warmer weather, the trees just starting to bud and the feeling like everything is coming back to life after being frozen to death for the last 4 months.
Well, I'm off to the Greek Festival.
I hope you have a great rest-of-the-weekend, Renee!
Love Ya,
Ashley
Sheesh do all you ladies live in paradise? LOL! ANYWHERE where snow isn't around 24/7 in winter sure sounds like somewhere I'd love to visit! Guess I need to start out on a road trip, first stop TN, then GA, FL and finally CA! I don't know where you live Joy but if it's chilly where you're at you can just join me on my road trip! :-P
ReplyDeleteXOXO~ Renee
I have to say that I love Fall/Spring because living here in Texas you are always ready for the milder weather. Not that our winters are really that cold. I have no idea how your family can keep the thermostat on 62 during the winter!! I would be frozen come spring if I was in your house. lol So I guess you can add Texas to your travel log. ;)
ReplyDeleteHahaha yep I'm there Angie get your house ready! :-P
ReplyDeleteXOXO~ Renee
How funny! Great post!
ReplyDeleteI'm here in Alabama. While I love fall and spring, they don't last very long at all! It SEEMS like we have perfect weather a couple of weeks and the rest of the time is either way too hot or way too cold. I always look forward to either spring or fall, whichever one is up. I just LOVE the changing trees with each season. :)
