My Thoughts:
World War II set stories are some of my favorites to read. When it comes to suspenseful, adrenaline filled novels nobody crafts a story quite like Tricia Goyer and Mike Yorkey. Chasing Mona Lisa is a masterpiece that is sure to please every reader both male and female.

If you have read The Swiss Courier you will see some familiar faces in special agents Gabi Mueller and Eric Hofstadler but if you haven't yet had the chance to read it don't worry Chasing Mona Lisa can be read as a stand alone book. From the very first page I can almost guarantee that you will be hooked and have an interest in what happens to Gabi and Eric as well as some of the new faces. I'm not sure I've ever read a story that was as exciting and breathtaking as the opening scenes of this tale or a book with characters and a storyline that kept me guessing so much. That said the story does lag a bit in the middle but the quest to save the Mona Lisa from Nazi hands and rescue it from the French countryside towards the end is nothing short of nerve wracking! Without giving too much away I will just say I would never have had the guts (or the steady hands) to be caretaker of a priceless piece of art like the Mona Lisa.

This book is a really good example of historical fiction, suspense, and romance. Combined with an exciting setting in war-torn Paris I think it definitely appeals to all types of readers including those who don't normally read Christian fiction. Since it is a book set during a war there is some violence so it may not be suitable for the youngest readers.

~3.5 out of 5 stars~

About the book:
It is August 1944 and Paris is on the cusp of liberation. As the soldiers of the Third Reich flee the Allied advance, they ravage the country, stealing countless pieces of art. Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring will stop at nothing to claim the most valuable one of all, the Mona Lisa, as a post-war bargaining chip to get him to South America. Can Swiss OSS agents Gabi Mueller and Eric Hofstadler rescue DaVinci's masterpiece before it falls into German hands?

With nonstop action, Chasing Mona Lisa is sure to get readers' adrenaline pumping as they join the chase to save the most famous painting in the world. From war-ravaged Paris to a posh country chateau, the race is on--and the runners are playing for keeps.
