My Thoughts:
~4.5 stars~
When am I going to admit that I am once again a fan of Amish fiction? Right now. I got sick and tired of the same ol', same ol' when reading Amish fiction in the earlier years of this decade but it's quickly become one of my favorite genres again. With her latest novel Suzanne Woods Fisher has cemented herself and her Amish stories right on my "must read" list. Yep, it's all because of her wonderful, heartrending and impulsively readable novels that I'm HOOKED on Plain fiction.

The Keeper is quite possibly going to go on my best books of 2012 list! Yes I just posted my 2011 list last week and I'm already making room for this book to go on December 2012's list. The characters, the setting and most importantly the story are beautiful. As I began to read this I thought how wonderfully light and refreshing this was going to be but it was so much more than that. By the end of the story I was reaching for the tissues. Each and every one of the characters will imprint themselves in your heart but possibly none more so than M.K. and Menno, two of our heroine Julia Lapp's younger siblings. If ever there were two fictional characters you wish you could meet in reality it's those two. I dare you to come back here after you have read this book and tell me you didn't like them.

Fisher has a real knack for making the Plain life anything but simple and teaches lessons in love and life that we can all learn from. In just over 300 pages she managed to make me laugh, growl in frustration then cry my eyes out and hook me so completely that I have to keep reading this series. Revell will you please push up the release date of Sadie's story so I can read it ASAP? If you only read one Amish book this year make sure it's this one, I'm pretty sure you won't regret it.

About the book:
Julia Lapp has planned on marrying Paul Fisher since she was a girl. Now twenty-one, she looks forward to their wedding with giddy anticipation. When Paul tells her he wants to postpone the wedding--again--she knows who is to blame. Perpetual bachelor and spreader of cold feet, Roman Troyer, the Bee Man.

Roamin' Roman travels through the Amish communities of Ohio and Pennsylvania with his hives full of bees, renting them out to farmers in need of pollinators. He relishes his nomadic life, which keeps him from thinking about all he has lost. He especially enjoys bringing his bees to Stoney Ridge each year. But with Julia on a mission to punish him for inspiring Paul's cold feet, the Lapp farm is looking decidedly less pleasant.

Can Julia secure the future she's always dreamed of? Or does God have something else in mind?
