The Story:
The Powerful, Epic Romance Continues

For Cora Kensington, the journey of a lifetime takes unexpected twists. And her future—her very life—depends on the decisions she’ll make at each crossroad. As her European tour with her newfound family takes her through Austria, France, and Italy, an unseen enemy trails close behind. Meanwhile, a forbidden love continues to claim her heart, putting everyone’s plans in danger.

And as Cora stays one step ahead of it all, what might need the most protection is her own heart, torn between the dramatic pursuit of a dashing Frenchman and a man who has been quietly staking claim to her affections all along. Love has dangers all its own. She must escape the bonds of the past and discover the faith to make the right choices, as each one has grave consequences.

My Thoughts:
The Grand Tour series is yet another entertaining historical series from author Lisa Bergren. I don't believe I've read a book by Ms. Bergren that I didn't enjoy and recommend to fellow Christian romance fans. Grave Consequences, Lisa's latest novel is an interesting story to say the least. I'm still not sure if I like Cora's main love interest. I just could not connect with him and found myself liking the other gentleman soooo much more. The rest of the characters and story itself are terrific.

Following where Glamorous Illusions left off Grave Consequences finds Cora and her new-found family in the midst of their Grand Tour with danger still on their heels. A hefty 440+ pages it's a surprisingly quick read. All the drama and tension that were present in the first book are in this book! Cora is still as headstrong as ever even though she's had to make the adjustment to life with a wealthy family. I have to say that I'm not at all sure where Cora is headed but I hope she finds happiness and her one true love. As much as she denies wanting a Prince Charming, I think she needs one.

Grave Consequences is a good book but definitely one to be read only if you have read Glamorous Illusions. If you're a fan of Lisa's books or historical fiction definitely think about picking up this series. Book 3 will definitely be a must-read for me if for no other reason than I want to see who, if anybody, Cora ends up with!
