What to Watch: Sanditon, Coming January 12th to PBS!

Image
I interrupt your regularly scheduled cold, miserable autumn to bring you a sizzling new Sanditon trailer! Guys, I'm freaking obsessed with this series (my Tumblr has turned into a Sanditon side blog). It has aired in the UK already and let me tell you, it rocks. I won't give spoilers, but the ending is the world's worst cliffhanger, so I urge you to give this series a watch in January and demand a second season with me! The chemistry between the two leads is off the charts. Y'all won't regret it. It is based on Jane Austen after all! Watch the trailer and HMU in the comments or @ me on Instagram or Twitter  with your thoughts! You can pre-order a copy of the novelization of this series of Sanditon by Kate Riordan or order a copy of the series companion book The World of Sanditon now so you can be all caught up (or spoiled!) by the time the series airs in January!

My Review: You Belong with Me by Tari Faris

Image
The Story (from the publisher ) : Realtor Hannah Thornton has many talents. Unfortunately, selling houses isn't one of them. When a business tycoon determines to raze historic homes in the small town of Heritage, Michigan, and replace them with a strip mall, Hannah resolves to stop him. She sets about helping Heritage win a restoration grant that will put the town back on the map--and hopefully restore her disgraced family name. But she'll need help to do it. As a foster kid, Luke Johnson never truly felt he belonged. Now he has a chance to earn his place in his hometown. But he doesn't anticipate how his relationship with Hannah will set into motion events that reveal the truth about who he is--and who he was. My Thoughts: Heroine who loves the romance of old things ✓ Friends to possibly lovers ✓ Old houses ✓ Could this book be anymore up my alley?! Ha ha! I haven't read a contemporary romance in the Christian fiction genre for a while and I so loved the...

A Review: Yours Truly, Thomas

Image
The Story: (from the publisher ) For three years, Penny Ercanbeck has been opening other people's mail. Dead ends are a reality for clerks at the dead letter office, and she dreams of something more--a bit of intrigue, perhaps a taste of romance. When she comes across a letter from a brokenhearted man to his one true love, it becomes her mission to place this lost letter into the hands of its intended recipient. But when Penny's undertaking leads her to the intriguing man who touched her soul with his words, everything grows more complicated. She wants to find the rightful owner of the letter, and yet . . . she finds herself caring--perhaps too much--for the one who wrote it. My Thoughts: This is my first time reading this author and my first time writing a review in quite a while! I love a sweet historical and as a newer novelist, Ms. Fordham’s voice is a refreshing addition to the genre. While Yours Truly, Thomas is a romance, it starts out somewhat slowly. It t...

A Bound Heart by Laura Frantz

Image
The Story: (from the publisher ) Though Magnus MacLeish and Lark MacDougall grew up on the same castle grounds, Magnus is now laird of the great house and the Isle of Kerrera. Lark is just the keeper of his bees--and the woman who could provide an elixir to help his ailing wife conceive and bear him an heir. But when his wife dies suddenly, Magnus and Lark find themselves caught up in a whirlwind of accusations, expelled from their beloved island, and sold as indentured servants across the Atlantic. Can they make a new beginning in this New World? Or will their hopes be dashed against the rocky coastline of the Virginia colony? Laura Frantz's prose sparkles with authenticity as she digs into her own family history to share this breathless tale of love, exile, and courage in colonial America. My Thoughts: Craving a trip to Scotland after having binge watched 20 episodes of Outlander in a matter of days, I knew A Bound Heart was the book I had to read! Usually Lau...
