From the publisher:
Her dream is within her grasp--but can she leave her past behind?

Luellen O'Connell is stunned when her husband of just one month tells her he is leaving--and his reason devastates her. Deeply wounded by his betrayal, Luellen decides to follow her dream to become a teacher, a desire she had set aside when she married. But can she truly hide her past? Or will it destroy her ambitions forever?

A moving story of tenacity and perseverance, The Dawn of a Dream will inspire you to discover and follow your own dreams.

My Review:
Marry in haste, repent at leisure has never been more truthful than for Luellen O'Connell. Stunned at the sudden departure of her husband of one month, she has no choice but to try and make a life for herself on her own. Upon yet another stunning revelation her life as a student at the Allenwood Normal School and her future as a teacher are in jeopardy. With her faith and some newfound friends Luellen discovers that dreams still can come true.

As a follower of this series I'll admit that I wasn't expecting a story like this at all. I was pleasantly surprised by the fresh spin that Ms. Shorey took with the direction of The Dawn of a Dream. I enjoyed it from the first page and if I'm being completely honest I hadn't really done so with the other books in the At Home in Beldon Grove series. First things first, I was rather shocked at the first chapter and kept thinking, "Wow! I didn't see that coming!" The second thing I noticed is our heroine wears spectacles! In romance generally the heroines have hourglass figures, perfect hair or stunning eyes so the fact that Luellen sports eyeglasses caught my attention. To me, little details add to the richness of a story.

The Dawn of a Dream will definitely take you on an emotional roller-coaster of a ride. There's shock and surprise, sadness and joy, rejection and redemption. There are so many things that one can take away from books and stories like this have lessons that we can all learn from or relate to. The Dawn of a Dream has me looking forward to the next book from Ann Shorey in what I'm sure will be a great start to a new series!
