Book Review: The Jewel of His Heart (Heart of the West, Book 2) by Maggie Brendan
Synopsis:
Juliana Brady is left all alone after being abandoned by her father years ago and the recent death of her mother. There is little choice for her but she is determined not to rely on anyone other than herself. Josh McBride is a sheep herder trying to make it on his own away from his hard hearted father. When he discovers precious Yogo sapphires on his land he has to choose between wealth or the potential of a life long soul mate whose eyes rival the beauty of Yogos.
My Review:
As you may know I read Maggie's first novel, No Place for A Lady (read my review HERE) and have been looking forward to reading Josh's story for a while. The Jewel of His Heart did not disappoint, right from the start I was hooked. There was a lot that happened to both Juliana and Josh that made me wonder what more could go wrong! They, along with their faith however made it through...with a little help from Shebe ie. the dog on the cover (Coco told me she's her favorite character in the book). Another character who was introduced who I really learned to like was Wes...I wonder what will happen with him? I can't wait to see what happens to April too...I surely hope gets reformed...she's a brat! This was a good story with a nice happy ending! I'll be looking for Book 3 soon!!!
