Sir Toby  If you know me at all you know I love summer. I can't stand to be cold and I can't stand to wear layers of clothing. I like to lather up with sunscreen and curl up on the back deck reading or running around the yard throwing sticks for my two fur babies to catch. For fall, it's a pretty decent day in spite of all the rain. 70 degrees is pretty great for a late October day. Since it's probably the last decently warm day of the month, I thought it would be fun to share a few photos of my collies, Coco and Toby, to remind us all that it will be warm again soon. Soon.

Coco and her Dry Pets Plus! Any family with pets knows that it's a struggle to keep your furry family clean and dry - especially when the weather is dreary. Snow or rain, can make for some messy situations. After every outdoor adventure or potty break, paws big or small need a good cleaning. My family has always used an old bath towel to take care of the muddy situation that are Coco's and Toby's (two rough collies) paws in the mucky spring and summer and snowy winter months.

Oreo says, "Cats hating dogs is too mainstream. I share my personal space and my organic kibble with canines."

It's been a while since I've posted a cute dog pic so I thought I'd one up it today and post a super cute video that I found. Of course it's a collie but even if you aren't familiar with the breed I think you'll agree that this pup is adorable! I guess all collie's have something quirky about them, the one in the video apparently doesn't like styrofoam cups. My dog Coco doesn't like finger nail clippers, sweepers, pencil sharpeners, the emergency radio scanner, helicopters and the list goes on... Sometimes I really wonder what in the world is going through her head!

I 've followed Hope's story ever since Angie first posted about her on Never A Dull Moment and I gotta say she's one special pup. Read this story by Angie and you'll find out why! One day last summer my husband called and told me that he had just rescued a puppy he found on the side of t he road. She was actually in the middle of a busy intersection, on one of those concrete island things that divide the road. He didn’t stop at first but was almost home and couldn’t get her little face out of his mind so he turned around and brought her home. Our plan was to find her a home, so the next day I took her to the vet’s where I work part time to get her shots and a check-up. As you may know my 2 year blogaversary was earlier this month but I didn't get the chance to celebrate due to illness, so I figured it would be fun to celebrate this April with a special pet themed party! You *might* know that I love dogs and my first blog post ever featured my collie, Coco. I figured it would be great to celebrate 2 years of blogging and 3 years of life with my furry friend, Coco in this way. It's Friday and it's almost 70 degrees so I am a happy camper. Unfortunately not everyone is enjoying such a beautiful day today and many people across the world are coping with sadness and loss in lieu of the earthquakes, tsunamis and floods that have hit areas like Haiti, Australia, and Japan. It's easy to take for granted the comfort and safety we have here in the US but we need to remember that someday it could be us. So the next time you complain about the cold and the snow and the rain just remember Japan and war torn countries like Afghanistan and Iraq and be thankful for what you have! I know I will be thinking twice! Please remember to donate or help out with the relief efforts in Japan in anyway you can, the Red Cross is always taking donations. I don't know whether to feel sorry for these dogs or feel sorry for the person that did this to the dogs (they had waaaay too much time on their hands!) I think they are super cute though!
