You. Guys. SDCC, or San Diego Comic-Con for those of you not as familiar with geek speak, is THE place to be if you love movies, TV, comics, or pop culture of almost any kind. Unfortunately, I have never had the opportunity to attend, but I always follow the goings on pretty closely online. There are always a plethora of teasers, character reveals, and of course exclusive movie trailer releases. This year's SDCC guests have not disappointed. I gotta say I thought superhero films were getting a liiiittle played out, but boy was I wrong. The trailer for Wonder Woman just blew me away and the second official Doctor Strange trailer is trippy as all get out. And the tagline for that one..."The impossibilities are endless". Whoa. Superheroes are clearly here to stay and both films are bound to be blockbusters or I'll eat my hat! Is there anything from SDCC that you want to discuss? What films are you most excited to see? As you may know, we had a family emergency last month and I didn't do a lot of blogging or reading for that matter for many days. I'm slowly but surely catching up on all my reading. Usually I like to vary my posts between books, TV, and just life in general, but lately it's been books books books! I hope that my reviews are helpful for those of you creating your summer reading lists. In case you missed my review , I highly suggest adding  Love Finds You in Sugarcreek, Ohio , by Serena B. Endeavour has quickly made its way to the top of my favorite mysteries list. Hopefully this airs soon here in the States! I'll be waiting  patiently . While we wait for that premiere date, here's the trailer for the new series from ITV. Enjoy!

Earlier this week we got word that the 50th anniversary Doctor Who special, "The Day of the Doctor", would air simultaneously around the world on November 23 @ 2:50PM EST, and that a trailer for the special would follow today! For those of us fortunate enough to get an early glimpse of the mini-trailer when it leaked on a BBC site late last night only to be quickly removed, it was a bit difficult to get to sleep! I know, crazy right? but if you're a Whovian you probably get it.  For those who may not have seen it, the BBC posted a full-length trailer for all to see this afternoon! Check out the trailer below and be sure to clear your schedules so you don't miss a second of what looks like an amazing episode!

Save the Day -- November 23, 2013!

I've read a bunch of rumors in the past few years of missing Doctor Who stories being recovered in strange or unusual places only to be disappointed that there wasn't any truth in them. The last few days I've been reading that hundreds of lost episodes have been found in Nigeria and told myself not to get too excited. Thankfully it was partially true and two classic Who stories, "The Enemy of the World" and "The Web of Fear", have been rediscovered and have been remastered and will be available for purchase on iTunes on October 11th! Have I mentioned how excited I am?! SQUEE! I have really enjoyed all the classic stories that I have seen so far and have faith that I will love these two new ones as well! This happened this morning making it an even better extra long weekend... BBC One Drama Trailer featuring Sherlock , Ripper Street, and some new series' too!

SQUEEEE!!!!! Who else is ecstatic about the next Hobbit movie?! I just found this trailer that was posted today and this movie looks even better than I thought it was going to be. Downside: we STILL have not heard Benedict Cumberbatch voicing Smaug (sad face).

Is anybody planning to see the latest version of The Great Gatsby ? I have to admit that I've only seen the 70s version starring Robert Redford but I really enjoyed it. I'm a little afraid that this movie might be all flash with no substance. The trailers on TV make it seem like a modern day costume party, especially the soundtrack featuring artists like Will.I.Am and Florence and the Machine. That said, I have loved Carey Mulligan ever since Bleak House and Doctor Who and Leo is looking rather dashing -- and the costumes? STUNNING! ;-)  In case you haven't seen it, here's the trailer from Youtube. There are so many movies that are coming out this summer that I really have to be picky about what I see or otherwise I won't be able to eat for the rest of the year! Early this morning (1: 23AM to be exact) while trying to relax with my Kindle I saw on Facebook that the new trailer for series 7 of my all-time favorite show, Doctor Who had been posted. Having the need to see the trailer for the first time on a screen bigger than 7 inches I ran down the stairs, turned on the computer, signed into FB and had a few fan-girl moments. Squee! Can you tell I love this show? Hahaha! We're three days into the new year and already my 2012 book wishlist is full. There are so many unique and interesting looking books that are coming out this year that you might not be able to decide which ones to buy. I don't know about you but this cool sci-fi take on the Cinderella fairy tale is going to be a must read and may just be one of the few books I go out and buy. I know, I know I already posted a movie trailer this week but I couldn't help myself from posting this trailer for The Vow starring Channing Tatum ( Dear John ) and Rachel McAdams ( The Notebook ). I'm a sucker for all things romantic and while this looks like a real tearjerker I definitely have to see it! I don't know about you but I think 2012 looks like it's going to be an amaaaaaazing year for movies!

Ohmygosh The Hunger Games is seriously the best YA series I've read since Twilight so the fact that it's also being made into a film series (hopefully better than Twilight ) has me really excited. Needless to say this trailer doesn't show a whole lot but still it looks like the movie is going to be amaaaazing! Thoughts on the trailer? The books? Any movies you're looking forward to in 2012?

I love historical films, books, tv series' etc. I'm kind of sick of reality tv and action films that seem so popular so when I saw this trailer today on Yahoo I thought, "It's about time!" With films like Jane Eyre and now The Conspirator I'm hoping period/historical films are making a comeback!

Thanks to Ruth @ Booktalk and More for reminding me that Series 6 of my favorite show, Doctor Who will be premiering this April on the BBC and BBC America . I've been in love with Doctor Who since I caught it when it first aired on the SyFy channel nearly 6 years ago. Although there have been three different doctors and I've loved each and every one my favorite is the current Doctor as played by Matt Smith. He's so funny and totally cute in a nerdy sort of way! Check out the trailer for series 6 below. I'm excited that the Tardis will be landing in the US! ;-) I just had to share this too since it's so fun!

As I posted late last year one of my very favorite books, Jane Eyre is being remade yet again for the big screen. If you're a follower of news of the film like I am you've probably been disappointed in the lack of clips and sneak peeks other than the original teaser trailer release a few months ago. Well thanks to Charley Brown @ Enchanted Serenity of Period Films blog I learned last night that there were two brand new clips one being the very swoonworthy scene right after Jane saves Rochester from being burned in his bed!!!! If that scene is any indication for the rest of the movie, I think it's going to be awesome! Check it out below and see for yourself. Doesn't Michael Fassbender have the dreamiest voice?!
