Book Review: Revelations by Melissa de la Cruz
Revelations: A Blue Bloods novel

As you know I really enjoy reading a good vampire novel, which usually happen to be geared towards young adults. Melissa de la Cruz's Blue Bloods series is quickly becoming one of my YA favorites. It's probably second to Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series for me.
The Blue Bloods series is really cool because it gives a neat religious background to the vampire myth. The Blue Bloods are fallen angels who were cast out of Heaven but saw the errors of their ways and are for the most part "good" vampires. Revelations is the continuation of Book 1, Blue Bloods and Book 2, Masquerade. We pick up with the love triangle between Schuyler Van Alen, Oliver Hazard Perry, and Jack Force and their fight to discover the Silver Bloods and whoever else is out to bring about the demise of the Blue Bloods.
To read this story you will need to read Books 1 and 2 first or you will be really confused but once you have read them you will want to start this immediately as it is REALLY good!!! I'm a sucker for romance and adventure and there's certainly a lot of both, it's a bit of Twilight and Gossip Girl combined...complete with forbidden romance and the snotty girl (Mimi Force) that I just love to hate. Melissa did such a terrific job with this and I adored her reference to Star Wars and how she used it at the end of the book...soooo sweet! Just read this book and you'll see! And oh yeah, did I mention that this book has a cliffhanger ending??!! Luckily I don't have to wait long for Book 4 and you won't either, The Van Alen Legacy releases in October 2009.
