Rollin' In (Bread) Dough!

Today my grandma who is visiting from Florida assisted me in my first venture in bread-making! Under her supervision (yeah I need supervised in the kitchen :-P) I was able to put together the ingredients that turned into the yummy looking (and tasting) loaves of bread pictured below! I was sooo excited that I had to share some pics with you! So here they are! The streaks on top of the bread are from the melting butter and since I don't have matching bread pans one loaf is smaller than the other.

Is there anything more delicious than warm bread with a slab of butter on top?

  11. Fresh bread is my weakness. I could eat a whole load without stopping for air ~ I wouldn't even need butter.

  12. Thanks, Renee! I will look for the recipe. Do you like wheat bread? You can try substituting whole wheat flour for half of the all-purpose flour in your white bread recipe. Have you heard of "King Arthur" flour and baking products? Their whole wheat flour is great! Also check out their website for recipes, baking tips and all kinds of wonderful foods and products.

  16. Renee! Our loaves match! And I don't use my matching pans (of course not, why do THAT???) because my old ones bake a better loaf. Isn't that a hoot?

And sometimes when I want a dinner type bread I'll pat the second form into one or two small round loaves seasoned with cheese... rosemary... garlic.... poultry seasoning... dried tomatoes... anything that seems like I'd find it at an Artisan market! I love that you did this!
